OUR WORK

Optio works primarily in Central America, a region where access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare is heavily restricted. To ensure that women can exercise their reproductive rights in this challenging environment, we use a multi-level approach that drives long-term policy and institutional change while also responding to urgent needs and emerging crises. We work to liberalize reproductive health policies and strengthen institutions and to ensure that women have access to essential healthcare and the information they need to safely manage their reproductive lives.

Our Programs

Optio partners with local organizations to amplify and expand their reach. This approach ensures that local activists, doctors and lawyers in Central America have greater access to technology, funding, and legal support to better serve their communities.

ACCESS TO HEALTH

Improving access to essential medicines and services for comprehensive reproductive care.

Policy Advocacy

Conducting research and developing communications to advocate for reproductive justice.

Strategic Litigation

Liberalizing reproductive health laws in restrictive countries using strategic litigation.
