Optio and PASMO Create a National Network of Girls Clubs in Honduras
Optio is working closely with Associación PASMO to bring together and strengthen girls’ clubs across Honduras. These clubs help girls stand up for their sexual rights, learn concrete steps that they can take to report sexual assault without compromising their own safety, and overcome other barriers that prevent 87% of them finishing secondary school. . Over the past two months, we identified over 30 girls’ groups across the country, and will be interviewing them to learn about the different models they use, the curriculum they developed, successful strategies/approaches, and challenges faced. Later this year, the mentors of these clubs will come together to share these experiences with one another and attend training sessions.
