Violence and Discrimination Against Women, Girls and Adolescents

This Thematic Report accompanies the implementation of the project “Eradication of Violence and Discrimination against Women and Girls in Latin America and the Caribbean,” carried out by the IACHR with the support of the Government of Canada between 2017 and 2019. The purpose of the project was to promote compliance with the Commission’s recommendations and decisions in light of Inter-American standards on the rights of women, girls, and adolescents in Latin America and the Caribbean. The main objective is for Member States to prevent and eradicate violence and discrimination against women, girls, and adolescents.

This report analyzes good practices identified in the region for advancing the rights of women and girls, while also highlighting issues of particular concern in Latin America and the Caribbean in order to advance understanding and respond to these human rights challenges.
